Manager – International Chemical Sales
Reporting To: Head – Chemical Sales

Job Purpose
The Manager – Chemical Sales is responsible for driving international chemical sales and business development activities, primarily focused on the African region. The role involves achieving sales targets, expanding the customer base, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring smooth execution of export orders while working closely with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Achieve assigned volume and revenue targets as per the annual business plan.
- Identify and onboard new customers on a year-on-year basis to expand market presence.
- Drive introduction of new products and SKUs based on customer needs and market opportunities.
- Prepare, negotiate, and finalize commercial offers and ensure timely order confirmations.
Customer & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers.
- Manage customer pipelines, forecasts, and follow-ups to ensure consistent business flow.
- Conduct regular customer visits and submit detailed visit reports.
- Address customer complaints proactively and ensure resolution to customer satisfaction.
Order Execution & Coordination
- Coordinate closely with logistics and operations teams to ensure timely shipment release and delivery.
- Follow up on customer payments and monitor adherence to approved credit limits.
- Maintain accurate customer databases and sales records.
Market Intelligence & Product Development
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and pricing dynamics.
- Support development and promotion of new chemical products and applications in collaboration with internal teams.
Team & Internal Collaboration
- Support and guide sales executives to achieve individual and team targets.
- Participate in coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job development of team members.
- Take on additional responsibilities or job rotations as assigned by the reporting manager.
Educational Qualifications
- Graduate in Chemistry or related discipline is mandatory.
- MBA / PG qualification in Sales, Marketing, or International Business will be an added advantage.
Experience & Exposure
- 5–10 years of experience in international marketing or export sales within chemical trading or manufacturing industries.
- Hands-on experience in export documentation and overseas customer handling.
- Prior exposure to African markets is preferred.
